"Islamic Shakhsiyah Foundation has developed a unique Islam-centred curriculum over the last twenty years. Our approach extends beyond traditional Islamic Studies lessons, incorporating Islamic pedagogy into every aspect of learning. We are now preparing our curriculum resources for publication, starting without halaqah curriculum.
Our curriculum is both interdisciplinary and thematic, ensuring that each lesson offers a comprehensive, holistic perspective. Each six-week unit is structured around a theme that integrates different subjects through inquiry-based learning, all anchored in the principles and content of the Halaqah. For example, in the Year 4 theme ‘Circles and Cycles’, learners may explore the water cycle in Science while simultaneously studying cyclical theories of the rise and fall of civilizations in History. This interconnected approach provides learners with a deeper understanding of the world and how different fields of knowledge intersect.
As of now, we are developing our Halaqah curriculum for educators to use in their own homes, classrooms, or after-school centers. Other subjects will be developed in the future, insha’Allah. At Shakhsiyah, we aim to inspire a well-rounded Islamic worldview, allowing students to draw connections between concepts and see the bigger picture."
